The Barkery featured on Rogers' "Daytime"!

The Barkery was featured on Rogers' Daytime with host Susan Cook-Scheerer and co-host  Jason Chagnon, for a live segment that offered viewers a little do-it-yourself insight into home baked dog treats! 

We have posted the recipe that was featured in the segment for you to try.  Bone Appetite!

 Ginger Cookies.

At this time of year people are travelling and taking their pets with them.  This dog treat receipe is sure to help your four legged friend on its travels.  Ginger has been used for its health benefits for over 5000 years and is a favorite medicinal as well culinary herb.
Ginger is known to relieve stress, used as digestive aid, great mouth freshner and also help reduce inflammation.
 
2 cups spelt flour
1 cup oat flour
1/2 cup oat flakes
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 tbsp ground ginger
1/4 cup sunflower oil
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp molasses
3/4 cup water
 
Mix all dry ingredients together. Mix sunflower oil, honey, molasses and water together.  Combine all ingredients to make a hard stiff dough.
Roll out to 1/4" thickness and cut into desire shapes.
Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
For soft treats remove from oven and cool. Store in airtight container in fridge.
For hard treats leave in oven over night to completely dry out.
